I was driving through Virginia in 2009 and stopped for a break at a highway rest stop (or wayside) and found this lovely picknick area filled with flowering trees and a little wooded ‘forest.’You could hear the highway, but in many spots it was hidden from view. A welcome relief from trucks, traffic and miles upon miles of hypnotic grey road.
